Good customer service is very important for any restaurant to build a strong customer base. There are several ways for your restaurant to offer good service to your customers. Take a couple minutes to chat your with customers, you offer your regular customers a free drink or dessert, or even ask for their feedback concerning what you can improve are all great ways to engage with customers to make them feel.
Talented Restaurant Staff
The first step to good customer service is your restaurant staff. Well-trained front of house staff will make your customers happy and keep them coming back. Good waitstaff are among the most talented people out there. They should be friendly and not annoying. That can do several task but still can serve customers their undivided attention. Honest, trustworthy and can work as a team.
Handle Customer Complaints
Regardless of how hard you try, there are certain thing that will go wrong once in a while. Burned foods in your kitchen equipment, forgotten order in the middle of a dinner rush, or new staff merely forgot all their preparation. You must acknowledge that there was a problem, but it is not what they should think from your restaurant. Despite of the reason behind the complaint, the important thing is to explain and please your customers.
Show Your Customer Appreciation
Action speaks louder than words, and that is actually true for customer service. There are several ways to show your customers how much you appreciate their presence. If they feel they are valued, they will keep coming back at your restaurant and it will lead to financial gain. Great them with a simple smile. Saying your appreciation doesn’t have to cost you any money.
Be Responsible
Responsible service of food and beverage is probably the most important way to show customers that you value them. After all, you don’t want to see your drunk customers to get behind the wheel of a car and hurt themselves or somebody else. Hence, if you are planning on serving alcohol at your restaurant, then you should be familiar with all the state liquor laws of your state. In most cases if a person is involved in an accident while drunk, you, as the owner of the restaurant that served them, may also be held liable.
