How to make a Perfect Hamburger
The Hamburger can be a great meal, more than just children. Take time to consider about all the possibilities that the hamburger presents. A pound of ground meat, a couple of garlic and a thick slice of cheese, when you mix them all, and you have made a perfect hamburger that no self respecting kid would eat and no adult would turn down. It is all about how you put it together.
Here are some Guides on How to make a Perfect Hamburger:
1. Choose your meat
The basis of a hamburger is, of course, the meat from which you make the patties. Beef is the typical meat commonly used in burgers but you could also use lamb or pork, or a mixture of beef and pork. If you want your burger to stay juicy after cooking, avoid going too lean. Choose a standard minced meat with 10-20% fat content. Use Meat Processors to grind your own meat. If you don’t have one, you can go to a butcher for meat grinding,
2. Add the Seasonings
Season it with grated onion, crushed garlic, finely chopped spring onion, bacon, mustard, chopped fresh or dried herbs and ground spices, like cumin, coriander, ground chili, fajita spice mix and etc. You can pick the flavors you like and mix it thoroughly with the meat.
3. Bind the meat and Shape it
Using clean hands, separate the meat into many parts. Gently squash and shape the meat into flat and round patty shape. It is not necessary to tightly pack the meat into shape. In fact, you should try to handle the meat as little as possible. Do not add salt to the ground meat before shaping, it will draw the liquid out of the meat, leaving you with a dry dull burger. Rather, put the outside part of the patty with salt as it cooks. If you’re adding bulky seasonings like garlic and onion, add an egg and breadcrumbs to bind the meat together.
4. Freeze it
Put your patties into the Refrigerator for at least an 60 minutes before you cook them. The cold will keep their shape when they’re cooking and prevent them from falling apart. Once they are frozen, get it and defrost thoroughly before cooking.
5. Cook it
Cook the patties on a hot Barbecue Griller or in a Gas griddle and leave them for the first 3 minutes so they build up a good seal on the bottom part, and then carefully turn them over. Cook them further 4-5 minutes for rare, 6-7 for medium rare, and 8-9 for well done, and allow to rest for a couple minutes before serving. If you want to add a cheese on your burger, place a slice of cheese on the top for about 1 minute before the patties are done cooking. The heat from the patties will melt the cheese and will make a great add-on.
6. Serve it
Serve your cooked patties with a good bun. A good selection of fresh fixings, like sliced tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, a dollop of mayonnaise and some salt and pepper are great add-ons for your desired perfect burger. Depending on your tastes, there really aren’t anything you can’t put in a hamburger. Despite the number of unique hamburger recipes out there increased, there are still a lot of variations that have not been tried yet. Be creative and don’t limit your imagination. Perhaps you could find the next new burger craze.
